In an award-winning project, Chalmor has supplied a combination of its Brilliance Ultra and Endurance luminaires to help Nottingham City Council reduce the installed electrical load at the Harvey Hadden sports complex by 39%. Operational costs for these areas have been reduced by 70%, with a reduction of 63% in carbon emissions.
As a result of these major savings, the project was overall winner in the Sports Lighting category of the EMILAS (Energy Management and Innovation in Lighting Award Scheme) awards.
In the sports hall and running track areas, existing high pressure sodium (SON) fittings were replaced with Chalmor’s 4 x 54W Brilliance Ultra fittings, using ultra long life (48,000 hours) T5 fluorescent light sources. These are linked to BlueWave lighting controllers to provide enhanced control of the lighting.
William Dyer Electrical (UK) Ltd recently started work on the electrical installations within the new extension to Mr. Fred’s Restaurant at Stanley House Hotel.
This coincides with the installation project already underway on the main hotel which is also being completed by William Dyer Electrical UK Ltd.

A range of facilities operated by Edinburgh leisure have benefi ted from a combination of maintenance- free lighting and enhanced lighting control, supplied by Chalmor.
These benefi ts include reduced energy costs, to the tune of £9000 per annum, extended maintenance cycles and enhanced visibility through whiter light, higher lighting levels and improved distribution.
Portobello Baths
At the Portobello Baths, for example, energy effi cient lighting systems have been installed in both the small pool and the main pool. Existing lighting in the small pool was provided by 20 x 250W high intensity discharge light fi ttings, which was usually left on from opening time until the pool closed in the evening.
Ainslie Park Leisure Centre
Similar benefi ts have been achieved at the Ainslie Park Leisure Centre, where lighting has been upgraded in the sports hall and the pool hall. Installation of new lighting has also included re-positioning of light fi ttings to increase lighting levels and provide more even distribution.

William Dyer Electrical UK Ltd have recently completed a large refurbishment project at Silverpoint Business Park in Bury, Lancashire. The project included electrical installations within the new reception area (Phase 1) and complete first floor fit out for the incoming client.
